Pedro Alcalde Ph.D in Musicology and Philosophy at the Freie Universität (Berlin). He specialized in orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik (Vienna). In the 90s also was assistant director of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic.
His multidisciplinary interests led him to participate in a wide variety of projects. He has collaborated in the Sonar with leading exponents of electronic music as Pan Sonic and Richie Hawtin or seeking new ways of visualizing musical with Offenhuber -Wenhart and Rachel Reupke. He has composed for the theater group La Fura dels Baus Infinito, a work for orchestra and tape that was premiered at a concert staged about the myth of Prometheus in the Classical Theatre of Mérida (2005). In 2011 he directed the premiere of the first productions of Nacho Duato for the Mikhailovsky Ballet Company at the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg) and during the tour in Moscow Stanislavsky Theatre.
